He was then posted as the State Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Malacca General Hospital.In 1998, he went for a year fellowship attachment in spinal surgery at Edinburgh, Scotland. On returning, he resigned from government service to start his private practice at Gleneagles Medical Centre as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (with special interest in spinal surgery).
